Description
The Hoxton gin team call this their ”premium gin, with attitude!”
It is a gin that has also truly divided many of the top gin reviewers and experts.
There is no doubt though that Hoxton gin has converted many a gin ”non-believer” in to an advocate!
So, to the gin….
The full list of botanicals is impossible to come by, but we do know that juniper, of course, ginger, tarragon, iris, grapefruit and cocunut are amongst them.
These are macerated in a wheat based alcohol for five days, and then distilled in 150 year old copper stills.
Filtered, following this, the gin is then ”rested” for two months.
So, there is no doubt that the cocunut taste is dominant, and the gin is somewhat ”creamy.”
Tonic definitely softens the gin, and a sweeter one, such as 1724, works much better, in our view.
For the garnish?
If you like grapefruit, then this certainly works. If you wish to ”tame the coconut” then we’d suggest lime.
