Mark and Elaine, Atlas Bar’s owners, discovered this gin on a trip to New Zealand in 2016.
They brought some back with them and are huge fans. It has finally now launched in the UK, in 2021!
The spirit is distilled from a whey base and locally sourced, organic botanicals are used. The most interesting being New Zealand Horopito, an ancient flowering plant. It is more commonly known as the Peppertree.
This gives the gin a chilli-like heat.
Sustainability is key to the brand and proceeds from every bottle are donated to protect the endangered Chatham Black Robin.
This gin is so good, that it can be enjoyed neat, over ice.
We love it served with soda, rather than tonic, and a lime garnish.
